The Living Positively Project

Lanka Plus has partnered with the UK based charity – Hope for Children to provide financial aid to the children of Lanka Plus members. The assistance is provided towards the health, nutrition and education of these children who are affected by HIV. Being the longest running project of the organization’s history, the Living Positively Project has provided hundreds of children over the years with a financial bursary for their health, education and nutrition.
Currently, the awarded sums are as follows:

Rs 1,500.00 per month for an HIV positive child
Rs 800.00 per month for an HIV negative child

Currently, Lanka Plus provides the above bursaries to 30 Positive children and 40 negative children.

Of the children who have exited the project upon attaining the age of 18 years, many have successfully completed their secondary education and secured employment and/or pursue vocational/tertiary education.
